I've been keeping mum about it by request of Dodong. But I just can't help it as the date comes closer…Dodong's coming home! Weeeeee! We've actually planned out one of the long August weekends in Baguio and I'm just so excited! There is a whole lot to eat in Baguio. Cafe by the Ruins is definitely our first stop.

The beautiful photos are care of AllanKo.netThe last visit I've had to Cafe by the Ruins was when I was in 2004ish. So obviously, that was eons ago. But what I remember about it is the yummy freshly baked bread, which is just perfect for a hearty breakfast for two…

Kamote Bread

Chocolate Croissant for Dodong!

Fried White Cheese is Love.

Oh my. The photos alone are just making me sooooo freakin' excited for a Cafe by the Ruins date. If Dodong won't be able to wake up for an bright and early breakfast, I still wish I would be able to taste a classic Cafe by the Ruins dish: The Hubad na Longganisa.

Crunchy porky goodness with mountain red rice...drool!

Here's another Cafe by the Ruins dish that keeps me super excited:

Bacoooooooonnnnnn!

Bacon is just love…best shared with someone special? NOT! Hahaha! I think I'd be a bit selfish with my bacon. Hihihi!

Two weeks to go and Dodong will be here na! Yahoooo! Cafe by the Ruins here we come!

What other Cafe by the Ruins goodies could we order?

Love the distance,

Inday I. Nagintay

P.S. Thanks again to Allanko.net for the lovely yummy photos.

This weekend has been the one of the slowest I’ve ever had in months. Since Dodong is away (most of the time), I do make it a point to keep myself busy. But this weekend, it seems like everybody else has their own plans.

So here I am fantasizing of what we could have done over the weekend if he were only here…

If Dodong were here, we would have eaten in one of our usual food haunts.

If Dodong were here, we would have had a Chuck / Big Bang Theory DVD marathon.

If Dodong were here, we would have watched the mesmerizing Manila sunset.

If Dodong were here, we would have shared a couple of bottles of beer.

If Dodong were here, we would have gone to beach for the last weekend of summer.

If Dodong were here, we would have been big kids enjoying Shrek Ever After.

If Dodong were here, we would have been sharing a lazy afternoon window shopping.

If Dodong were here, we would have been browsing through the shelves of Fully Booked.

If Dodong were here, we would have been just together…that would be enough for us.

So many would haves…Hay.

What would your weekend look like if he was here?

Love the distance,

Inday I. Nagintay

P.S. I'd like to get to know you better so hope you could answer a quick survey here.

And so I finally got to check out the I Love You Store which, I wanted to visit for the longest time. I, of course, did not end up buying anything but was able to catch a glimpse of a very interesting exhibit which is the inspiration for this date idea…

And so I finally got to check out the I Love You Store which, I wanted to visit for the longest time. I, of course, did not end up buying anything but was able to catch a glimpse of a very interesting exhibit which is the inspiration for this date idea…

Ge Mapa has this brilliant idea of sewing the words of Love Letters Never Sent. Yes, these pieces were handsewn by the artist himself. As in binurda in Filipino. I was not able to take pictures of all the pieces because I do want you to see it for yourself. Of course! Here are two of the pieces that struck me the most:

WOW di ba? These words capture the feelings I have for Dodong. As in! So cheezy but so romantic. I am more of the romantic type and I'd love if we could both write each other love letters at the same time. Then send them via snail mail (which would hopefully arrive safely in good hands).

Wouldn't it be sweet to surprise one another with old-fashioned, handwritten sweet nothings?

Sigh. I am a sucker for romance. How I wish Dodong would do this with me. But I highly doubt it, so I am sharing this idea with you guys instead At least, I could share the love with others right?

Love the distance,

Inday I. Nagintay

The past weeks have been sooo busy. But Dodong and I are still able to spend some time "together" long distance relationship style. And recently, we kind of caught up on a new habit.

To be honest, we are not big on the dates thing. Because we do love to eat together which is quite impossible with the situation. But another thing we do enjoy doing is watching TV shows and movies together. AND we've found a way to get around that date habit with our long distance relationship situation.

We're now hooked on The Big Bang Theory So what we do is we download all the past seasons and episodes (They are now on season 3 which is on going) and we watch it during our own sweet time. Then we laugh and chat about the show.

It's super fun! And we're quite competitive to see who gets to watch the latest episodes first. Actually, Dodong is very much ahead of me already. Mabagal lang talaga magdownload. Plus I had some movies and other TV shows lined up in between the Big Bang Theory downloads. Hehehe.

I'm actually wondering what other shows / movies we could watch together but apart. Gets? Do you watch your favorite TV shows and movies together like us?

Live Wais-ly,

Inday I. Nagintay

I know it's been quite some time since I last posted anything. What have I been busy with? Well, the doing the usual holiday rounds with friends and family plus I've been bitten by the holiday hangover so it's been lazy. Yes, there I said it. Lazy as a daisy.

But as I get back into the groove of regular programming, I do set my sights out for the goals for the year 2010. This includes my plans for our long distance relationship and, of course, the blog

Celebrate the love some more

Dodong did a great job on our 7th year anniversary this year and this June 16, 2010 will be our 8th year anniversary. So I want to celebrate this milestone with a BANG! The number 8 when turned by 180 degrees becomes the infinity symbol soooo I do hope this anniversary is the official start of "to infinity and beyond"

Another thing to celebrate is Dodong's 2nd year in the desert this March 9, 2010. It is truly an LDR milestone for us since WE, US survived 2-years of being apart (at least physically). We actually call it his desert anniversary. I guess this would be our 1st official day physically apart, so our LDR anniversary. When is your LDR anniversary?

I know there are more of the little things celebrating because in long distance relationships parang everyday is a celebration of love Cheezy! What other romantic nothings do you celebrate?

Nurture the Romance still

I'm still not sure when is Dodong's next homecoming. He is still trying to schedule it as there are stuff he needs to attend to as well…like attending weddings. Hahaha! A lot of our friends are getting hitched this year Looks like a romance year right?

I am still on the look out for cool Future Date ideas and, let's not forget the alone date ideas too. Love yourself syempre! Feel free to drop me a line at us@lovingthedistance.com for your date ideas. I'd like to know more romantic date getaways for the next homecoming

I'm also planning some more gift giving. So gift ideas would also be welcome. I guess in a span of 7.5years I think I've done so much. I need your help too

Defy the distance as usual!

Of course, we will defy the distance and become a stronger, more loving couple Still am looking for more couples who would love to share their LDR stories. I'm sure there are a lot out there.

I do plan on tackling the different kinds of long distance relationships. Mine is only one of those, being in a relationship with an OFW. So would you care to share your unique LDR story?

I'm thinking of doing a club perhaps to really help us support each other through the challenges of a LDR. Whatchathink?

I am really confident that all of us would be able to defy the distance with the kind of love and romance that us couples have and work for I guess then that really love is not enough in LDRs, you have to make it work.

Here's to more love and romance to defy the distance in 2010 Cheers!

Love the distance,
